Launch EpochField Mobile
Users can launch EpochField Mobile on their mobile device while the device is either connected to a network or disconnected. At first launch, immediately after installation, the user is presented with a map and some basic tools.
Some tools, such as the Log In button, are disabled when the app is not connected to the network.
Log In to EpochField Mobile
Before the rest of EpochField Mobile’s key functionality can be enabled and accessed, users must be connected to the internet. Users must specify an EpochField Mobile Portal Configuration URL, then connect to an ArcGIS Enterprise or Online Portal.
Select the
Log In button.
Input an EpochField Mobile Portal Configuration URL in the Portal Configuration URL text box.
Select Continue.
Select either an ArcGIS login or Online Portal.
After a Portal type is selected, the user will be prompted to enter credentials that must be authenticated against a portal to initiate a successful login. Users may see an ArcGIS Enterprise login screen or an EpochField Mobile login screen.
After the credentials are successfully authenticated against a portal, EpochField Mobile will download a configuration file based on the user’s user, group, and role permissions as defined in EpochField Administrator. This file then dictates the offline data packages the user can access. Any data that is deemed required within the configuration file is automatically downloaded.
Data Download
The first step after a successful initial login is to download the offline data packages. These packages are usually broken down into smaller region-specific packages; this allows users to only download data for areas they work within. See Data Download for guidance.
