Categories and Values
Categories
As of EpochField version 5.2.4, Categories and Fields are combined into a form and the order they show up in the form can be configured through the Form Order tab. See Form Order for guidance.
As of EpochField version 5.2.8, Categories can have their Values prepopulated via Spatial Lookup or Related Table Lookup. See Category Value Definition for guidance.
View Work Order Task Type Categories
Categories are used to organize the data to be collected in the field.
Log In to EpochField Web Suite. See Log In to EpochField Web Suite for guidance.
Select Open under EpochField Workflow Builder.
As soon as the user logs in to the application, the available Work Order Types are displayed.
Click Load next to the Work Order Type.
Select a Work Order Task Type.
Add New Task Type Category
Log In to EpochField Web Suite. See Log In to EpochField Web Suite for guidance.
Select Open under EpochField Workflow Builder.
As soon as the user logs in to the application, the available Work Order Types are displayed.
Click Load next to the Work Order Type.
Select a Work Order Task Type.
Click Add New Category.
Fill out the Add Category fields as necessary
Category Name: An abbreviated description of the Category
Category Code: An alias for referring to the Category
Multiselect?: User checks this if the Category will have Multi Select Values in it
Required?: Check if at least a value for the Category must be selected
Summarize Category?: Check if summary of the Category in the Work Order Form must be displayed
Filterable?: Check if the Category will be available as a filter option on the Work Feature Filter
Read Only?: Check if the Category will be read only
Pre Population Config: Check if the Category will be prepopulated based on Feature Classes
Category Value Definition Config: Check if the Category will contain pre populated Values. See Category Value Definition for guidance
Click Create.
Edit Task Type Category
A Task Type Category must be added for this process. See Add New Task Type Category for guidance.
The Multiselect? checkbox selection cannot be edited.
Log In to EpochField Web Suite. See Log In to EpochField Web Suite for guidance.
Select Open under EpochField Workflow Builder.
As soon as the user logs in to the application, the available Work Order Types are displayed.
Click Load next to the Work Order Type.
Select a Work Order Task Type.
Click
Edit for the Category to be edited.
Edit the data entry fields as necessary.
Click Save.
Ordering Categories
A minimum of two Task Type Categories or Fields must be added for this process. See Add New Task Type Category and Add New Field for guidance.

Delete Task Type Category
A Task Type Category must be added for this process. See Add New Task Type Category for guidance.
Deleted Task Type Categories cannot be recovered.

Select Open under EpochField Workflow Builder.
As soon as the user logs in to the application, the available Work Order Types are displayed.
Click Load next to the Work Order Type.
Select a Work Order Task Type.
Click
Delete for the Category to be deleted.
Click Yes.
Category Values
A Task Type Category must be added for this process. See Add New Task Type Category for guidance.

Select Open under EpochField Workflow Builder.
As soon as the user logs in to the application, the available Work Order Types are displayed.
Click Load next to the Work Order Type.
Select a Work Order Task Type.
Select a Category.

A Task Type Category must be added for this process. See Add New Task Type Category for guidance.

Select Open under EpochField Workflow Builder.
As soon as the user logs in to the application, the available Work Order Types are displayed.
Click Load next to the Work Order Type.
Select a Work Order Task Type.
Select a Category.
Click Add New Value.
Fill out the Add Value fields as necessary.
Value Text: An abbreviated description of the Value.
Value Code: An alias for referring the Value.
Field Template: Associate one of the available fields to the Value.
Attachment Required?: Check if an Attachment is required.
Fix On Site?: Check to displaying an icon next to the Value indicating that if that condition exists it needs to be fixed on site.
Multiple Values can be added to the Category at a time using pipe | separated Values.
Click Create.
Edit Category Values
A Category Value must be added for this process. See Add New Category Value for guidance.
Log In to EpochField Web Suite. See Log In to EpochField Web Suite for guidance.
Select Open under EpochField Workflow Builder.
As soon as the user logs in to the application, the available Work Order Types are displayed.
Click Load next to the Work Order Type.
Select a Work Order Task Type.
Select a Category.
Click
Edit for the Value to be edited.
Edit the data entry fields as necessary.
Click Save.

Select Open under EpochField Workflow Builder.
As soon as the user logs in to the application, the available Work Order Types are displayed.
Click Load next to the Work Order Type.
Select a Work Order Task Type.
Select a Category.
Click and drag the Value to the desired position.

Select Open under EpochField Workflow Builder.
As soon as the user logs in to the application, the available Work Order Types are displayed.
Click Load next to the Work Order Type.
Select a Work Order Task Type.
Add a new Task Type Category. See Add New Task Type Category for guidance.
Enable Category Value Definition Config.
Fill out the relevant fields.
The information that goes into here will come from the database.
Auto Select Single?: Check if one value is to be selected
Select First?: Check if the first value is to be selected
Show Default?: Check if the default value will be shown
Show Default Always?: Check if the default value will always be shown
Lookup Type: Choose the lookup type in a dropdown menu
Spatial Lookup: Selects values based on a configurable geographical proximity
Related Tables Lookup: Selects values based on a configurable database table
Dataset Name: Enter the name of the database table to query
Default Value: Enter the name of an EpochField Workflow Builder value to be the default
This must line up with the Default Value Code
Default Value Code: Enter the code of an EpochField Workflow Builder value code to be the default
This must line up with the Default Value
Value Property: Enter the name of the column in the selected database table
Value Code Property: Enter the name of the column in the selected database table
Order By Distance?: Check if the assets query is to be organized by proximity to the work feature
This is designed to be used with the Spatial Lookup Type
Click Create.
When properly configured, this is an example of what the Category Value Definition Config looks like in the EpochField Mobile workflow form. The Fuse Unit Category has its Value populated via Related Tables Lookup. The FeederID Category has its Value populated via Spatial Lookup.
Deleting Category Values
A Category Value must be added for this process. See Add New Category Value for guidance.
Any Intelligent Workflow configurations associated with the Value will also be deleted. See Intelligent Workflows for more information.
Deleted Category Values cannot be recovered.
