Fields

A Work Order Task Type must be added for these processes. See Task Types for guidance.

As of EpochField version 5.2.4, Categories and Fields are combined into a form and the order they show up in the form can be configured through the Form Order tab. See Form Order for guidance.

Viewing Fields

  1. Log In to EpochField Web Suite. See Log In to EpochField Web Suite for guidance.

  2. Select Open under EpochField Workflow Builder.

  3. As soon as the user logs in to the application, the available Work Order Types are displayed.

  4. Click Load next to the Work Order Type.

Add New Field

  1. Log In to EpochField Web Suite. See Log In to EpochField Web Suite for guidance.

  2. Select Open under EpochField Workflow Builder.

Field Text

  • An abbreviated description of the Field.

Data Type

  • The available data types from the Data Type dropdown menu are:
    Single Line Text, Multi Line Text, Address, Date Time, Integer, Double, Signature, Rating, Date Only, Time Only, Email, Website, Barcode, Note, and Phone Number.

    • Any regular expression applied to these fields via the Field Regular Expression setting will also override the allowed characters from WebSuite and app configurations.

Field-Specific Options

  • Single Line Text and Multi Line Text

    • When Single Line Text or Multi Line Text is selected, the following additional fields appear:

      • Field Regular Expression (optional): A custom regular expression to validate user input in the field.

      • Field Regular Expression Error Message (required if a regular expression is set): The message shown in the app when the input does not meet the regular expression criteria.

      • Note: Any custom regular expression defined here will override the allowed character set defined in WebSuite’s General Settings and the mobile app configuration.

Rating

  • When Rating is selected, the following field is required:

    • Number of Rating Stars: The number of stars to display for rating selection. Must be between 3 and 10.

Time Only

  • When Time Only is selected, the following field is required:

    • Time Format: The format in which time should be entered in the field.

Email, Phone Number, and Website Validation

The Email, Phone Number, and Website data types now have built-in format validation. These patterns are predefined and may change in the future, so the exact expressions are not documented here.

  • These format rules override the allowed character sets defined in WebSuite’s General Settings and mobile application configuration.

  • Any regular expressions defined for email/phone/website fields will be ignored altogether.

Once a user begins typing in one of these fields, the field will be considered invalid until the entered value meets the required format. Validation messages do not list specific invalid characters—only whether the input is valid. The message will disappear automatically once the entry meets the pattern's requirements.

Required?

  • Check this option if the field must be completed by the user in the EpochField mobile app.

Edit Field

Delete a Field

A Field must be added for this process. See Add New Field for guidance.

Any Intelligent Workflow configurations associated with the Field will also be deleted. See Intelligent Workflows for more information.

Deleted Fields cannot be recovered.

  2. Select Open under EpochField Workflow Builder.
