Adhoc Work Orders

Some situations in the field need to be worked and there is not a scheduled work order to address it. In this situation, create an Adhoc Work Order for any work types that are configured to allow that behavior.

Create Adhoc Work Order

  1. Select the Tool Menu.

  2. Select Work Management.

  3. Select Create New.

A list of Work Order Types is presented that have been configured to allow Adhoc Work Order creation within EpochField Mobile. See Workflow Builder for more information.

  1. Select the Work Order Type that suits the work to be performed.

  2. Select Confirm.

  3. Enter relevant information in the data entry fields.

Select the Calendar buttons in the Work Order Form to automatically enter the current date in that data entry field.

Scheduled Work Orders require a planned start date, planned end date, and a service territory.

  1. Select Save.

Create Child Work Order

A Work Order must be created and configured to perform this process.

There may be a situation in the field where an assigned work order may have some auxiliary work associated with it that is not part of the original work order. In that situation, a Child Work Order can be created for any work types that are configured to allow that behavior.

  1. Select the Tool Menu.

  3. Select a Work Order to act as the Parent Work Order.

Not all Work Orders are configured to have Child Work Orders.

  1. Select Create New.

  1. Select the Work Order Type that describes the work to be performed.

  2. Select Confirm.

The Work Order Form will be displayed, allowing Work Order Data, Comments, and Equipment for the child work order to be entered. See Work Order Details for more information.

  1. Enter relevant information in the data entry fields.
